Our most prestigious club trophy, the Tanglefoot Trophy and the Max Christensen Award is presented to the member who has been recognized as giving outstanding service to the club during the previous year.
The Loyal Order of the Snorkel Award for the member(s) who
had made the most spectacular submersion during the season.
|
2008 Tanglefoot Trophy
In 2008, this was awarded to Michael Collins.
A very popular choice and worthy recipient of the award, his tireless work as club secretary and participation in fly tying and other club events has been of immense benefit to the membership during the past year.

2008 Loyal Order of the Snorkel
 |
In 2008, this was shared by Bill Warboys and Jim Ferrier.
Unfortunately, the latter has become a regular recipient of this award!
|
2009 Tanglefoot Trophy
In 2009, this was awarded to John Dekkers.
John's extensive efforts in assisting with the club's fly tying events and supporting our Adult Education programs were recognised by the members as exceeding the expectations of service to the club.
His infectious smile and enthusiasm to help out are just two of his many facets that have contributed to the running of the club.

2010 Tanglefoot Trophy
A very surprised and most humble winner of the 2010 club member of the year was awarded to Richard Hawley. Richard’s always impressive and often sacrificial commitment to the club’s most significant project (the new Noonamena) and work on the committee, had seemed to fly under the radar. Not quite…..

2010 Royal order of the snorkel
This year, we were blessed with the story of one
Keith Watson coming to grief with the waves down
Swansea way. Unfortunately there were others in
the boat who shared the experience with Keith.
|
2010 Distinguished Service Award
It was with a great deal of satisfaction and joy that
our esteemed club patron, Professor Nigel Forteath
was able to present this award to a club member
and stalwart of the Tasmanian fly fishing
community - Jim Ferrier.
Jim’s tireless dedication to the betterment of our
club and the Tasmanian fly fishing scene has been
recognised in this most prestigious award.
