Membership

The Fly Fisher’s Club of Tasmania was formed in 1955 and has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Club membership is around 120 active members who are from all walks of life and share a love of our trout fishery, ecology, bush walking and the preservation of wilderness areas in Tasmania.

Our club actively promotes itself in the wider community and is often involved in state and local community initiatives promoting angling in Tasmania.

We see the importance of this community involvement as helping to maintain a healthy Tasmanian fishery, in fostering angling experiences with our youth and promoting it as an excellent, attractive and highly rewarding recreational activity.

Membership in The Fly Fishers' Club of Tasmania brings with it the engagement of many "like minded" fly fishers, in the common goal of broadening their experiences and pursuits with the long wand.
