The Flyfisher's Club of Tasmania own two warm, comfortable shacks centrally located on the Central Highlands Plateau within easy reach of many lakes containing wild browns, rainbow and brook trout.
Koongara
"Koongara" is on the shores of Penstock Lagoon, one of the famous big trout fly fishing waters in Tasmania.
Many club members stay overnight or spend a long weekend at the shack whilst chasing the enormous trout feeding on mayfly duns, spinners or jassids. It is pleasant to meet with club members and guests in the evenings and discuss the day's fishing in front of the huge open fireplace or over a beer when firing up the bbq.

Noonamena
"Noonamena" is on the shores of Little Pine Lagoon, the premier wild brown trout fly fishing water in Tasmania.
Many club members stay at the shack chasing tailing trout feeding on scud, snails and stick caddis early in the season with mayfly duns and black spinners coming to the fore in November / December.

The club is currently replacing the Little Pine shack with a newly built version.
Vince Bannon and Richard Hawley are leading the project. Once the final building approvals are in place, the plans and progress updates will be included in these pages.
